Located on a private concession, Kichwa Tembo boasts two exquisite camps. Epitomising the classic safari, Bateleur Camp is a romantic, intimate tented camp complete with private butler service. Kichwa Tembo Masai Mara Tented Camp offers a forest and savanna experience, with elegant safari tents that overlook the Sabaringo River and vast stretches of Mara grassland. Kichwa Tembo Camp lies directly in the path of the Great Migration.The Camp consists of 2 seperate camps namely Kichwa Tembo Bateluer Camp and Kichwa Tembo Masai Mara Tented Camp.

The lodge has 53 modern rooms with attached bathroom, running hot water supply; electricity and all rooms have veranda’s. The lodge is located 100 meters away from the waterhole, which attracts variety of animals from all around. The magnificent views extend out over some of the most rugged scenery in this 12,000 sq. kms park with the snowy dome of Mt Kilimanjaro looming above the mountains as a perfect backdrop. The dining room is set overlooking the vast plains displaying awesome scenery and foliage. The restaurant adheres to high standards of dining, serving both international and local delicacies.

The setting is magical. So much so that almost a century ago it was reserved, exclusively, for Kenya’s colonial Governors. Governors’ Camp nestles in the forest along the winding banks of the Mara River, it’s waters teeming with bird-life, hippo and crocodile.Some of the 37 tents line the riverbank, with uninterrupted views over the Mara River others have views across the sweeping plains. Created in 1972 Governors’ Camp set new standards in luxury for a tented camp. Today it’s still Africa’s best.
